Official Launch of Project Daman 2

The 17 February 2014 took place the official launching ceremony of the project Daman 2 support the development of the olive oil sector in Lebanon.

M. Thomas CAZALIS, Director AGRIATE, and M. Youseef KHALIL et Ali EZZEDINE, president and director of the Association accompanied ADR M. PAOLI, Ambassador of France to Lebanon, and a French delegation composed of officers of the French Development Agency, of the French Institute and the Economic Mission of the French and military contingent of UNIFIL during a field visit to South Lebanon.

After a tour of the orchard where was presented the functioning of olive took place the signing of partnership agreements with beneficiary cooperatives and Memoranda of Understanding with the relevant municipalities. The day ended around a rustic snack organized for the occasion.

AGRIATE currently conducting its second mission within the framework of the implementation of the project Daman 2 strengthening the olive oil sector in South Lebanon.

The 27 September 2013, we signed a financing agreement with the French Development Agency in the framework of the implementation of the project Daman 2 Lebanon, which aims to strengthen the Lebanese olive oil sector by enhancing the yield and quality of olive oil produced. AGRIATE, as operator of the project, signed in parallel a partnership agreement with the Lebanese NGOs ADR (Association for Rural Development) to ensure the realization of the planned activities. The signing of this agreement marks the launch of a project that will end at the beginning of the year 2016.
